Floral Design Team Member

The Floral Design Team Member may be required to work outdoors in all kinds of weather. Must have availability to work weekends, Friday/Saturday/Sunday, from 9 am to 3 pm, with an occasional evening. Schedule flexibility is needed to accommodate the week-to-week event schedules.

Summary: Serving clients and guests at Jorgensen’s unique event venues is the most important part of what we provide our clients. The Floral Design Assistant is an instrumental part in creating the look clients want to accomplish for one of the most memorable days of their lives. This position is an entry-level position ideal for someone with floral and/or design background that wants to expand their knowledge and gain hands-on experience in this field.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

  • Floral Design team members are responsible for maintaining all communication related to the sale, preparation and execution of Jorgensen Floral Design Services.

  • Work with Jorgensen Farms staff and external vendors to deliver services as expected by clients

  • Design, prepare and set up all floral and decor items as selected and agreed to by clients

  • Process and organize flowers and materials needed for client orders

  • Participate in the cleanup of events by disassembling, discarding, cleaning and restocking items used by clients

Drive company vehicles on site

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • At least one year of experience in Floral Design.

  • Passion for weddings, events, floral design and the hospitality industry

  • A guest-centric mentality

  • Strong work ethic

  • Knowledge of and interest in fresh flowers

  • Background in creative work and design

  • Ability to lift chairs, move tables and participate in the setup and tear-down of the event

  • Ability to work on their feet for the entirety of their shift

  • Ability to relate to a diverse set of team members, clients and guests

  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, weekends, evenings and holidays

  • Willingness to do "whatever it takes" to get the job done

  • Strong organization and time management skills

  • Capability to work with other departments or external vendors to deliver the expected final product to clients

Conditions: Floral Design Team Members may be required to work outdoors in all kinds of weather. Shifts are generally Wednesday through Saturday, from 9am to 3pm, with occasional evening and Sunday assistance needed. Schedule flexibility is needed to accommodate the week-to-week event schedules, as well as changes arising from weather conditions.
