Floral Design Lead

The Floral Design Lead may be required to work outdoors in all kinds of weather. Must have availability to work weekends, Friday/Saturday/Sunday, from 9 am to 3 pm, with an occasional evening. Schedule flexibility is needed to accommodate the week-to-week event schedules.

Summary: Jorgensen Farms is made up of multiple divisions, creating a unique agritourism environment that blends organic farming with special events. Serving clients and guests at Jorgensen’s unique event venues is the most important part of what we provide our clients. The Floral Design Lead is an instrumental part in creating the look clients want to accomplish for one of the most memorable days of their lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Emailing, phoning, and meeting with Jorgensen Farms event clients to develop Floral Design proposals

  • Utilize in-house client management software to prepare, manage and send Floral Design proposals to clients as well as to maintain client correspondence

  • Work with Jorgensen Farms staff and external vendors to deliver services as expected by clients

  • Manage purchasing and organization of Floral Design inventory and storage

  • Coordinate schedules of Floral Design team as needed to execute services for clients

  • Order flowers and product as needed within budget constraints

  • Design, prepare and set up all floral and decor items as selected and agreed to by clients

  • Drive company vehicles on site 

  • Provide support to the team in the absence of the Floral Design Manager

  • Whatever it takes to create a comfortable, welcoming, and supportive environment for all staff and guests


Skills and Abilities:

  • Have a passion for weddings, events, floral design, and the hospitality industry

  • Have a guest-centric mentality 

  • Be able to analyze and solve problems while multi-tasking

  • Be able to lift chairs, move tables and participate in the setup and tear-down of the event. Staff members must be able to lift equipment up to 40 pounds on a consistent and repetitive basis

  • Be able to work on their feet for the entirety of their shift

  • Have the ability to relate to a diverse set of team members, clients, and guests

  • Be willing to work a variety of shifts, weekends, evenings, and holidays

  • Have the willingness to do "whatever it takes" to get the job done

  • Possess strong organization and time management skills

  • Work with other departments or external vendors to deliver the expected final product to clients

  • Use a computer and in-house software to manage client proposals and correspondence


Experience & Education:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of floral design experience

  • Experience in Weddings and Events preferred

  • High school diploma

Conditions: Floral Design Team Members may be required to work outdoors in all kinds of weather. Shifts are generally Wednesday through Saturday, from 9am to 3pm, with occasional evening and Sunday assistance needed. Schedule flexibility is needed to accommodate the week-to-week event schedules, as well as changes arising from weather conditions.
