The Origin
Organic Farming and Education
Jorgensen Farms began as a simple idea rooted in stewardship—connecting people to the land and to where their food comes from. With the opening of the farm market, the property became a place of gathering, offering fresh, thoughtfully grown produce while inviting the community onto the farm. From the beginning, education has been at the heart of the mission, welcoming children to explore, learn, and experience farming firsthand. Through school visits, hands-on programs, and seasonal traditions, Jorgensen Farms has grown not only crops, but a deeper understanding of agriculture and care for the land across generations.
First Wedding
“We’ve never done one yet, but we can try”
The first wedding at Jorgensen Farms came simply from being asked at one of the Sunday Suppers in 2011. A couple who loved the land and the feeling of the farm wondered if they could celebrate their marriage here. Saying yes felt natural. What began as a single, heartfelt gathering revealed something special—the farm was not only a place to grow food, but a place to mark life’s most meaningful moments.

After the success of the original wedding space, The Barn, Oak Grove became Jorgensen Farms’ second venue in 2018. Its development included the salvage and relocation of a 100-year-old Lord & Burnham greenhouse from near Val’s Michigan hometown and the construction of the property’s first onsite kitchen.
The Gardens
Reinvigorating the Original Venue
The next chapter of development focused on the renovation of the original Barn, which carefully renovated to preserve its character and add modern amenities to improve the guest experience. The Arboretum was thoughtfully added on as an additional indoor venue constructed as a modern interpretation of a post-and-beam structure. The new buildings hosted the first events in Fall 2022.
